Glossary A to Z
Adaptogen
A natural substance or medicinal plant that helps the body to adapt to stress, promoting the balance of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, reducing anxiety, and improving physical and mental well-being.
Time-restricted feeding
Time-Restricted Eating is a specific form of intermittent fasting, in which all meals are consumed within a fixed daily window (e.g., 8–10 hours), with fasting during the remaining period. It is usually practiced daily, unlike alternate-day or occasional fasting.
Telomerase Activators
Telomerase activators, such as TA-65, are tools that lengthen telomeres, which naturally shorten with cell division and aging.
Clinical evidence for TA-65 in humans is limited and still in its early stages. The use of these chemicals is not without adverse effects and may increase the risk of cancer. The use of certain longevity technologies indirectly activates telomerases, making them much safer.
Autophagy
A cellular process ofrecycling and regeneration, in which the cell degrades and reuses damaged components to maintain balance.
